The Next New Thing

The Next New Thing

I am thinking about the special pen. When you are writing in your notebook, the entire text that you wrote will be sent to your iPhone or Notebook computer in digital version. Also, when you will write and make any grammar mistake, the pen will make a signal and on its screen will appear the correct version of the word. This technology would enables student to better prepare to the school. Also, for  children who have learning problems writing with this pen will be easier and more convenient. Since people like to work and study from the computer, they will be able to find all notes on their computers in digital version and they can study from there. Sometimes people do not have time to open laptop and write a shore document, so this pen enables them to do it on the peace of paper and later one they can find it on computer or smartphone.

P2P File Sharing

P2P File Sharing

File sharing is the ability to transmit files from one computer to another using the Internet connection. File sharing gives you the access to computer programs, multimedia (pictures, video), electronic books or documents. You can store or transmit your files using removable media (USB flash drive, DVD’s, or memory cards), computer networks, World Wide Web -based hyperlinked documents, and the use of distributed peer-to-peer networking. Peer-to-Peer file sharing allows you to distribute and share digital documents and computer files using the technology of P2P networking. It allows you to access books, music, video, movies, games using P2P software program who searches for the other computer with this program with located content.  Examples of P2P services include KaZaA, Grokster, Gnutella, Morpheus, and BearShare. Since sharing files became easier and faster, the problem of piracy appeared. According to the article Should Online Scofflaws Be Denied Web Access?  written by Eric Pfanner ,  the growing problem of privacy is bringing entertainment industries loss what forces governments in each country  to resolve problem of online piracy. Most of the countries are fighting in courts with piracy, but there are no results. If they win one fight, the new way of sharing files becomes popular.

Privacy & Confidentiality

 Privacy & Confidentiality

Social Networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, or Blogger are used by millions of people around the world. All of these websites differ from each other, but all of them connect people with their friends, family and others. People obsessively started to create their profiles, post pictures, videos, and status providing hundreds of information about themselves. Users invite their family and friends to their friends’ list in order to watch their profiles and post some comments. Those social networking sites allow others to see not only all the information about the users, but also about its friends and friends’ friends. In result, we have chain of information that we unconsciously provide about our life and friends. We indicate what kind of people we really are and what kind of friends we have. This is very important because everyone, from strangers to law enforcement agencies, is able to search any information about the person they need or want to know.   Every user can track every detail of our life, for instance, when you add new friend, join the club, post comment or share a new picture. Most of the users post almost each detail about its life for example; their marital status, home address, age, phone number, personal identifiers, past and present education, politics view, hobbies, etc. People who have social networking services must realize that it is not just a fun because those websites vary in the levels of privacy. We have to learn how to protect our identity because social networking services cannot guarantee you privacy. We have to learn how to use social networking wisely because everyone can have access to our profiles. Your password is not enough to protect your privacy. Privacy is the right of individual or group to keep their personal information confident. The age of the Internet brings the new concept of privacy. Every post, blog, picture, or status update can be stored online forever. Internet users are unaware if the information posted online is used ethically, or is used in the way they should not be.
